Person injured in May crash dies

Colorado Springs Police say a man who was injured in a car accident on May 17 has died.

The crash happened at the intersection of Powers Boulevard and Stetson Hills Boulevard.

Police say Albert Gilligan was driving a 2004 Toyota Land Cruiser southbound on Powers Blvd. when he attempted a right hand turn onto Stetson Hills Blvd. and lost control. They say he proceeded southbound through the intersection and struck several eastbound vehicles stopped at the light. A total of five vehicles were involved in the crash.

One of the vehicles struck was a 1998 Chevrolet pick-up truck driven by Manuel Fernandez-Marquez, 54. Fernandez-Marquez died from his injuries on Sunday, June 12.

Police say speed was a factor in the crash.
