President Obama makes 15th mass shooting speech amidst tragedy in Orlando
President Obama addressed the United States on Sunday expressing his concerns and condolences following the mass shooting in Orlando, Fla.
Gunman Omar Saddiqui Mateen killed at least 50 people at a gay nightclub early Sunday morning, making it the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.
In his speech on Sunday, President Obama referred to the tragedy as “an act of terror and hate.”
He also stated that they couldn’t confirm the exact reasoning behind the shooting but that the FBI is treating the investigation as a terrorist act.
The President finished up the speech by sending kinds words out to the families of those who lost loved ones in the shooting…
“God give them the strength to bear the unbearable.”
..and encouraging everyone across the United States to stand together during this dark time.
“This is a sobering reminder that attacks on any American, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation, is an attack on all of us.”
