People waved flags and others stood at attention as the body of 32-year-old Marine Capt. Jeff Kuss was taken to a private burial ceremony in Durango on Saturday.

The ceremony included a flyover by the Checkerboards, Kuss’ unit before joining the Blue Angels.

Kuss was killed while practicing for an airshow near Nashville, Tennessee, on June 2.

Kuss is survived by his wife and two young children.

The body of Capt. Jeff Kuss arrived Friday on the Blue Angels’ C-130 Hercules transport plane.
