CSPD chase down previously convicted felon

A previously convicted felon led Colorado Springs police on a chase Sunday afternoon.

Anthony Allen Scott was arrested shortly after 1:30 p.m. after police got reports of a man in a turquoise car throwing a female out of the vehicle. When police attempted to pull over the car, it sped up and led police on a vehicle pursuit.

The vehicle ended up crashing into a curb at the intersection of Marion Drive and North Academy Boulevard. The driver, Anthony Scott, jumped out of the vehicle and ended up running a block until police caught him. A Taser had to be used during the arrest.

In Scott’s possession, police found a handgun, 27.1 grams of heroin, 4.8 grams of methamphetamine and a large amount of cash.

Further investigation led to the discovery that Scott was not only a previously convicted felon but he currently had an active felony warrant out for his arrest.

The woman who was allegedly thrown out of the vehicle was located, but she refused to cooperate with police. Reports state she was uninjured.
