Police: Man points AR-15 at suspects who stole his SUV
A man who pointed an AR-15 at a group of people who allegedly stole his Dodge Durango was arrested Friday night.
According to the Colorado Police Department, Gavino Brionez was riding in a vehicle with one of his friends when he saw his stolen Dodge Durango traveling down Springnite Drive. To get the Durango to stop, Brionez and his friend tried to block the roadway.
Brionez then got out of his friend’s vehicle and pointed a handgun at the group inside of the Dodge. The one behind the wheel put the Dodge into reverse and drove it into a house. The driver then jumped out and ran. Brionez grabbed his AR-15 and pointed it at the two in the backseat, ordering them to get out. Brionez then reportedly assaulted both of them.
Nearby were a couple of utility workers who witnessed the incident. Police said Brionez started to walk towards them, pointing his weapon, but then abruptly put the gun down and ran.
Police found Brionez later that night and took him into custody.
