Police: man at center of Pueblo standoff was armed with axe, threatened officers

A standoff at a home near Pueblo Community College ended peacefully Thursday.

The standoff happened in the 1300 block of Longwood Avenue.

Police say that Troy Palomino, 39, was arrested. They say Palomino was damaging property inside the home with an axe, and that he threatened officers with the axe.

The SWAT team used tear gas to force Palomino out of the house. He faces two felony menacing charges.

Police said the situation began with a fight between family members.
