delayed plans to move the jet to a more secure location at peterson afb. krdo newschannel 13’s scott harrison has been live at the crash site all afternoon. scott, crews had the jet ready to move before dark clouds rolled in. when that happened, heavy equipment and most personnel left the scene. crews hope to move the jet tomorrow afternoon, weather permitting. in the four days since the crash, the jet has been a source of intense interest and curiosity for people driving by. they’ve been taking pictures and trying to get a good look at the jet. we heard from two onlookers today. christine price/widefield “i didn’t know all this was going on out here. my daughter saw it, so i just wanted to come out and see it because it’s the first time i’ve ever seen anything like this, as long as i’ve lived here. robert stroup/black forest “just be fun to see it up close. not that i thrive on tragedy, but since it happened, it’ll be a historical event.” security around the jet remains tight, and keeps onlookers from getting too close or lingering too long. authorities say the jet will be transported north on powers blvd. to the airport, and then to peterson. but specific details of that haven’t been revealed. live south of the springs airport–scott harrison, krdo newschannel 13.
