East-side home targeted in latest Pueblo drive-by shooting

Pueblo police are investigating after a drive-by shooting that targeted a home on the city’s east side.

It happened at a house at the intersection of Joplin and E 8th Street around 8:15 PM.

Police do not believe anyone was hit.

Neighbors didn’t want to talk on camera, fearing for their safety, but they did speak to NewsChannel 13’s Katie Spencer, saying a car pulled up in front of the house and unloaded multiple shots.

Afterward, witnesses reported seeing people scattering in all directions.

Sgt. David Woods of the Pueblo Police Department confirmed tonight that they are investigating a gang tie-in saying, “This has been an ongoing issue for quite a while, especially as it deals with the gang violence that’s been going on here in Pueblo”

Police also say that the car involved was a stolen vehicle.

Officers did find that car and are processing it for any further evidence it may be carrying.

This was the fourth shots-fired incident in Pueblo in a week, a stretch that has seen two victims in separate incidents hospitalized with gunshot injuries.
