Ali’s death impacts Pueblo boxing community
Millions are honoring the legacy of Muhammad Ali, who died on Friday at an Arizona Hospital.
He was 74, and his death has had a real impact on the boxing community.
Gabe Charboneau is the head coach at the Pacific Warrior MMA Boxing Gym in Pueblo. He provides boxing lessons for kids on the east side of the city, trying to keep them off the streets and out of trouble.
He told KRDO that he not only respected Ali because of his athletic skills but also because of the way he lived his life.
“I think that’s a life well lived, and I think people should be proud to say he lived rather than you know being upset about his death,” said Charboneau.
Charboneau said he tried to follow Ali’s example and help people when he can.
