Where did President Obama stay overnight in Colorado Springs?
President Obama spent the night in Colorado Springs on Wednesday, prior to the Air Force graduation.
KRDO NewsChannel 13 can now confirm he stayed at the DoubleTree Hotel off of Lake Avenue.
“I would think he would have stayed up north… closer to where he was at,” said Liza Meeke, a Colorado Springs resident.
It was rumored that the president might be staying at the Broadmoor Hotel, but that was later debunked.
“Maybe it’s the cookies. That’s what it is, it’s the cookies here,” Meeke added.
Fellow hotel guests Asianae and Tamia Jackson say checking into the hotel on Wednesday night was anything but ordinary.
“When we first got here there was so much security. We had to have our car checked… The dog sniffed through our whole car. They checked under the car, in the hood everything,” Asianae and Tamia explained. “And then going into the hotel we had our bags checked, we were scanned down with a metal detector, and there were so many secret service. It was crazy.”
The craziness, however, was worth it for the pair.
“We did get to see him though leaving the hotel today. We got to see him in his little limo drive by,” said Asianae and Tamia.President Obama spent the night in Colorado Springs on Wednesday, prior to the Air Force graduation.
