CSPD apologizes after releasing incorrect information

The Colorado Springs Police Department says it released incorrect information about a man last week.

The information was sent to news organizations in a press release.

In the release, the police department erroneously reported that Michael David Baker, age 23, was convicted of Soliciting a Child for Prostitution.

Police now say that information was not correct. Instead, they say Baker actually pleaded guilty to Patronizing a Prostitute.

CSPD tells KRDO NewsChannel 13 that Chief Pete Carey plans to call Baker personally to apologize for the mistake.
