Colorado woman found guilty of trafficking, exploiting child

A Colorado woman has been convicted of trafficking and sexual exploitation of a child after prosecutors say she allowed a photographer to take erotic nude photos of a then-11-year-old girl.

The Daily Sentinel reports that Rebecca Franklin of Fruita was found guilty Wednesday after Mesa County District Judge Valerie Robinson sided with District Attorney Dan Rubinstein, who said Franklin’s story “makes absolutely no sense.”

Franklin testified Wednesday that she didn’t expect to receive payment from the photographer, that she didn’t know what his intentions were and that she wasn’t in the room when the girl was being photographed.

Franklin was arrested last September after being tied to a Grand Junction resident who is awaiting trial on charges that he took numerous nude pictures of underage girls.
