Pueblo County Courthouse gets golden top
The Pueblo County Courthouse has received a golden upgrade.
County workers put a new coat of gold paint on the courthouse dome Thursday.
Originally, they were up there to fix leaks on the top of the building, but workers wanted to spruce it up while they were at it.
The county said it has been almost 30 years since it had received a fresh coat of paint.
Facilities Director Sean Tapia said this isn’t the only improvement the courthouse will receive.
“We’ve got projects inside the building. We’ve got projects throughout this beautiful historic building that we intend to bring back to glory. This building is a glorious piece of architecture,” Tapia said.
The director hopes grant money, along with marijuana tax dollars, can help fund other projects at the courthouse.
