El Paso County officials declare June 2nd “North Pole Day”

Christmas is six months away, but that hasn’t stopped officials from celebrating the a special occasion

El Paso has declared June 2nd North Pole Day.

The day commemorates the upcoming 60th anniversary of the amusement park located west of Colorado Springs.

The park has been owned and operated for three generations by the same family.

The proclamation will be announced Thursday morning at the County Commission meeting at 9 a.m.

Santa is even expected to make an appearance during the meeting as well.

The park will celebrate their anniversary on Thursday, June 16th, with a big celebration that is open to the public.
