Traffic snarled as President Obama arrives in Colorado Springs
President Barack Obama has arrived at Peterson Air Force Base.
Traffic was snarled on several major roads as the President’s motorcade traveled through the south side of Colorado Springs Wednesday evening. Impacted streets included S. Powers Boulevard, E. Fountain Boulevard, S. Academy Boulevard and I-25.
The DoubleTree Hotel at I-25 and Lake confirms a high ranking dignitary is staying there tonight, but did not specifically say that it was Obama. Security is extremely tight at the facility.
The President will speak at Thursday’s graduation at the United States Air Force Academy.
Expect more delays as the President travels from the south side to the Academy just in time for the morning commute.
The ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. The president is scheduled to speak at 10:00 a.m.
We will stream the entire ceremony live on KRDO.com. Our regularly scheduled livestream of KRDO NewsChannel 13 at Noon may be preempted as a result.
