Volunteers painting life into Pueblo Soup Kitchen
Volunteers gathered at the Pueblo Soup Kitchen on Tuesday to help spruce up the aging building.
A mural project is underway, courtesy of the group “Leadership Pueblo.”
The new paint job caps off a busy month of improvements at the facility, including new furnaces.
By keeping the kitchen in perfect shape, those at the facility can keep the “farm to table” philosophy alive.
“From the community, to the farm, to getting right into the pot of soup,” said Cynthia Ramu, artist and volunteer.
Part of the mural design pays tribute to Zola Hunyada, a local legend who was of the founders of the Pueblo Soup Kitchen.
