Sports Authority coupons given at Bolder Boulder deemed useless
Those who attended the Bolder Boulder on Monday were angry to find out later that the Sports Authority coupons given out for free were actually useless for store purchases.
More than 50,000 people registered to run were given the coupons. Many were hoping to score some deals, only to find out later that the coupons in their race packets had no value.
“We go down there spend about an hour in the store shopping and picking what we want. We get up to the counter and the gals that are checking us out tells they are not going to redeem these coupons here,” said Stormy Griffith, coupon holder.
The coupons can’t be used because the store is liquidating. The fine prints on the coupons say that they can’t be used on clearance items.
So, all of the coupons given away during the race cannot be used at any of the 463 Sports Authority stores, which are all currently holding going out of business sales.
