Rain doesn’t dampen Territory Days attendance

Despite the rain, Territory Days finished up the holiday weekend with a bang.

Even with some of the bad weather, organizers think this year’s festival attendance was either equal to or exceeded previous years.

Vendors and local merchants told KRDO they are happy with what they saw.

“The only time it’s disappointing is when it’s raining nonstop and lightning. Otherwise, everybody always still comes out. This year, people are really coming out because the weather’s so good. Last year, we had a lot of rain,” said Sandra Baker, Eaton vendor.

“The little rain showers do great for the shops up and down the avenue because it kind of drives the people in. They need to get dried out, but then the rain lets up, and so they’re ready to hit the street again,” said Mazie Baalman with the Rock Mountain Chocolate Factory.

A special Memorial Day ceremony and a moment of silence was held Monday afternoon during the festival to honor fallen service men and women.
