Man tries to rob woman in Manitou Springs

Manitou Springs police are searching for a man who tried to rob a woman Sunday afternoon.

Police said it happened in the 400 block of Manitou Avenue around noon Sunday.

The victim told police the robber appeared from the bushes near the Midland Trail and the Old Mans Trail. The victim was able to run to safety.

Police said, the robber is a white man his 30s, approximately 6 feet tall and about 150 pounds, dark hair and tattoos on his arms and legs. Police said he also appeared to have a fresh horizontal cut that was bleeding on his right cheek. He was wearing a dark gray baseball cap with a flat black bill, a gray t-shirt with red lettering, and brown cargo shorts.
