Two people seriously hurt after being assaulted with beer bottles

Two men are seriously hurt after being assaulted Saturday night.

The first attack happened just before 1 a.m. on Saturday on the 2100 block of South Corona Avenue.

The second incident happened minutes later on the 1900 block of South Institute Avenue.

An investigation revealed that both victims had been assaulted by occupants of a vehicle. Both victims had beer bottles thrown at them and have serious bodily injuries.

Originally police believed the victims were riding bicycles at the time, but say they could have been walking.

Officers say the situations were identical but the victims do not know each other.

Both victims were treated for their injuries at memorial hospital. Neither victim was able to provide suspect information leading to identification of the suspects.
