Wanted fugitive leads Springs police on foot chase

A man wanted on multiple outstanding felony warrants led Colorado Springs police on a foot chase on Wednesday.

Troy Remington, 33, was walking in the 3600 block of Marion Drive when officers recognized him. When they tried to make contact, Remington ran.

The officers reportedly warned Remington several times before releasing their K9s. Shortly after, he was taken down in a resident’s backyard. He was then taken to a local hospital to get his dog bites treated.

When arrested, Remington had methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, burglary tools, vehicle parts and keys to a vehicle on him.

He was originally wanted on three outstanding felony warrants, which included criminal charges of attempted robbery, aggravated motor vehicle theft and introduction of contraband. He was also wanted on a misdemeanor warrant.
