Springs middle school briefly locked down because of bomb threat

District 20 says Timberview Middle School received a robo-call bomb threat Wednesday morning.

Students and staff were ordered to shelter in place for about ten minutes. Classes have since resumed as scheduled.

The Colorado Springs Police Department and District 20 security are investigating.

Television stations in other states reported identical incidents at schools in their coverage areas Wednesday.

Similar calls prompted evacuations at schools in Colorado Springs, Pueblo West, the Denver area and across the country on Monday.
