Former Falcon football player drowns in Mesa County

A former Falcon High School football player drowned at a popular Mesa County swimming hole.

Austin Worbington, 20, got swept away by the current at the Pot Holes at Glade Park.

His former high school football coach, Brian Green said Worbington was highly revered and a fantastic kid.

“He had the heart of giant. He would change the energy in the room because of his passion to be the best he could be,” Green said.

Green called him a coach’s dream.
