Suspect in shooting near Memorial Park turns himself in

Colorado Springs Police say their suspect in a shooting that happened near Memorial Park earlier this month has turned himself in.

Harold West, 47, faces charges of first degree assault and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.

West turned himself in to deputies at the El Paso County courthouse Thursday.

Police say West and the victim were fighting about money before the shooting, which happened at the intersection of E. Moreno Avenue and Prospect Lake Drive at around 7 p.m. on May 5.
