Body of homeless man found in Loveland

Authorities say the body of a missing homeless man has been found in a private pond in south Loveland.

A man snagged the body of 47-year-old David Bowling, of Loveland, while fishing Wednesday morning. Investigators had been looking for the homeless man in the area after some of his belongings were found near the pond about a week ago.

Bowling’s family last heard from him May 3.

The fisherman, Bob Willert, tells the Loveland Reporter-Herald ( http://goo.gl/OfMVzl ) he dropped his pole and ran after the body surfaced. Willert lives on and maintains the property for the land’s owner.

David Moore, a spokesman for the Larimer?County Sheriff’s Office, says that any time there is an unattended death, it’s investigated as suspicious until proven otherwise.
