Organizations come together to help homeless
Two nonprofits in southern Colorado are coming together to better serve the homeless population in the community.
Catholic Charities of Central Colorado and Springs Rescue Mission announced a partnership Tuesday that will change their approach to helping those in need. Catholic Charities of Central Colorado will focus on helping families, and Springs Rescue Mission will focus on helping those who are chronically homeless.
“None of us can do all things, so if we can get laser-focused on the things we believe we can do best, then I think it’s going to serve the community and is certainly going to serve our neighbors and community neighbors who are who are experiencing homelessness,” Springs Rescue Mission CEO Larry Yonker said.
“In both agencies. focusing on those separate groups can be more effective in a concentrated effort than I think, we have been to try broad approaches across the spectrum,” Catholic Charities of Central Colorado CEO Andy Barton said.
The two said they will work together and others to ensure everyone has the services they need.
