UPDATE: Seven arrested in mail fraud and identity theft ring investigation

Colorado Springs police arrested 7 people in connection with a large mail fraud and identity theft ring.

Misty Peterson, 28, Joey Bobbitt, 29, Sabrina Banales, 48, Doneice Cyprian, 40, Desere Sutton, 26, Lauren Tuggle, 25, and Joshua Kenyon, 37 are all currently in custody.

The arrests come after a month long investigation, in collaboration with members of the US Postal Inspectors, and Financial Crimes Unit.

More than 100 potential victims have been identified.

The investigation spanned El Paso, Teller, Douglas, Elbert and Arapahoe counties.

Activity included printing fraudulent checks, printing false Colorado Identification cards, theft of mail from community and individual mailboxes, burglary, and distribution of methamphetamine.
