Pueblo police officers slated to get new cars
The Pueblo Police Department is getting 22 new SUVs to replace some of its older vehicles.
The city council voted unanimously Monday night to approve the $1.1 million lease that will last five years.
Chief Luis Velez said they hope to add the cars in October.
“Well, they’re actually replacing older vehicles that we have in the fleet. We’ll be able to move some of those to our training academy where we can use those vehicles, the older vehicles, to train officers,” Velez said.
Some of the older cars have more than 100,000 miles.
