Four arrested in Pueblo West menacing case

Four men were arrested Wednesday, May 4th, following a harrowing car chase in Pueblo West.

Pueblo County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of Joe Martinez Boulevard and Hahns Peak just before 8:00pm Wednesday.

Two men in a car were approached by four men in a gold Monte Carlo, driven by a man later identified as Devyn Michael Trujillo, 21 (Photo, upper left).

The victim says he and his passenger were confronted by the suspects as they attempted to leave the parking lot of Lovell Park on Hahns Peak.

The victims did not know the men who approached.

Following a verbal confrontation, a man in the back seat of the Monte Carlo pointed a handgun at the victims.

The man said he was able to drive away, but the suspects continued to follow him.

At one point, the suspect said he heard what he thought was a gunshot coming from the suspect vehicle.

Both cars sped to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office substation on Joe Martinez Boulevard, where the suspect vehicle blocked him in the parking lot.

The suspects left the area prior to deputies arriving. No one was injured in the incident.

Deputies patrolling in the area later located and stopped the suspect vehicle in the area of Gilia Drive and Hahns Peak, where a handgun was found in the vehicle.

The four men in the car are now all facing charges:

Xavier Valentino Quintana, 20, complicity to commit felony menacing;

Joseph Preston Sanz-Jones, 20, for complicity to commit felony menacing;

Devyn Michael Trujillo, 21, complicity to commit felony menacing;

Joseph James Calderon, 19, felony menacing and protective order violation.
