Inmate seriously injured in state pen assault
The Department of Corrections says it is investigating after an inmate was attacked at the Colorado State Penitentiary in Caon City.
Giovanni Laratta suffered serious injuries in the attack.
Police say Laratta was assaulted by three other inmates as he was returning to his cell after an open day hall.
The three suspects have been placed in restrictive housing pending the outcome of the investigation.
