Update: Blaha, Frazier protest Secretary of State’s ruling, could still get on ballot

Two U.S. Senate contenders, hoping to challenge Democratic incumbent Michael Bennet this fall, went to court Monday and sued for the right to get on the June primary ballot in Colorado.

Robert Blaha, a Colorado Springs businessman and Ryan Frazier, an Aurora businessman and former city councilman were told by the Secretary of State’s office last week they had failed to garner enough signatures to get their names on the ballot.

However, both candidates believe they have a sufficient number of signatures and petitioned in a Denver District Court to have the ruling reversed.

A judge will make a decision in the coming days.

El Paso County Commissioner Darryl Glenn won his spot on the primary ballot at the state assembly April 9. Jack Graham, a former NFL quarterback and Colorado State Athletic Director, successfully petitioned onto the ballot.
