Sexually violent predator notification issued for El Paso County neighborhood

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office says a sexually violent predator has registered at an address south of Colorado Springs.

Kerry Gallegos, 45, is registered at an address in the 1700 block of Ascot Road, which is in the Stratmoor Valley area.

The sheriff’s office says that Gallegos was convicted of sexual assault in El Paso County in 2004. He also has prior convictions for burglary, criminal mischief and assault.

Gallegos is one of two sexually violent predators registered in unincorporated El Paso County.

State law requires law enforcement agencies to notify neighbors whenever a sexually violent predator moves into a community.
