A tasty way to celebrate Small Business Week
This is Small Business Week in Colorado Springs and Monday the Small Business Development Center and Better Business Bureau found a tasty way to celebrate.
Ten food trucks set up shop at the Norris Penrose Events Center to battle it out.
The trucks were judged by a team of chefs from the Broadmoor.
People who made their way to the event also had a chance to judge the entries and the winner was given a people’s choice award.
Business leaders say small shops like the food trucks should be celebrated all year long.
Jonathan Liebert of the Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado said, “Small businesses truly are the backbone of the economy. If you have a lot of good, small businesses in our region that’s actually going to help our economy attract more folks (and) retain people.”
There are other events associated with Small Business Week culminates with an awards ceremony on Thursday.
