Military wives get special night out in Colorado Springs

Operation Homefront and Southern New Hampshire University partnered to celebrate military spouses in Colorado Springs on Saturday.

The dinner and festivities honored more than 200 local wives.

Two attendees even received scholarships through Southern New Hampshire University.

Organizers with the nonprofit say it’s the least they can do to show their appreciation for those who give selflessly, daily.

“Heroes are ordinary people who have the opportunity to do extraordinary things. And I just want our military spouses to know that you are our everyday heroes,” said Christine White, the program manager for Operation Homefront.
