Woman who cut baby from stranger’s womb sentenced to prison
Dynel Lane was sentenced to a century in prison Friday.
Lane was convicted of attempted murder after cutting a nearly 8-month-old fetus from a Michelle Wilkins’ womb.
Lane was also convicted of assault and unlawful termination of a pregnancy in the 2015 attack.
Prosecutors say Lane was obsessed with having a baby. Her attorneys argued the assault was not a calculated murder attempt, but an impulsive act.
The breakdown of the sentence is as follows:
Count 1 – 48 years plus 5 parole
Count 8 – 32 years plus 5 parole Count 4 – 10 years plus 5 parole Count 5 – 10 years plus 5 parole
