Pueblo police make arrest after encountering drug-buy

Pueblo Police Department narcotics officers made a recent arrest after encountering a drug-buy in progress.

It happened on Friday when officers were investigating two suspicious vehicles parked in the 1100 block of Agate. When they tried to make contact with one of the drivers, he sped off, heading east-bound on Agate before coming to a
dead end.

The driver, later identified as 25-year-old Ricardo Suazo, exited the vehicle and fled on foot but was captured after a short foot pursuit. Suazo, a known gang associate and who was currently on a $20,000 bond for narcotics distribution, was arrested and transported to the Pueblo County Detention Center. He is being charged with
Eluding, Possession of a Schedule 1 Narcotic (Heroin) with Intent to Distribute, Driving Under Restraint and Restraining Order Violation.

At the time of his arrest, Suazo had over $1,000 on him. Subsequent searches later
produced $20,000 in cash and other items consistent with narcotics distribution.

Additional charges may be pending as Suazo has recently fled from officers on several occasions.
