UPDATE: State Patrol investigating deadly crash in Huerfano County
One person was killed in a rollover crash in Huerfano County.
State Patrol says the crash happened Thursday on Highway 160, about 14 miles west of Walsenburg.
Investigators say a Dodge pickup was traveling westbound when it drifted into the eastbound lane and hit a Chevrolet Hatchback. The pickup caught fire. The Chevrolet went off the shoulder of the road.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Mason Lyric, 22, was killed in the crash.
The driver of the Chevy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. A passenger in the vehicle is being treated for serious injuries.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but alcohol is being considered as a contributing factor.

The crash is also drawing attention to something troopers say is a problem on rural highway: wearing seat belts.
“In our line of work that’s important to us,” explained Trooper Clayton Mock, with the Colorado State Patrol.
According to a 2015 CDOT survey, 85% of Colorado drivers use seat belts regularly. In rural areas, that percentage drops to 83%.
