Pueblo family wins $150k in Powerball drawing

A lucky family in Pueblo won $150,000 in Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing.

The Colorado Lottery said Michael L. and his wife Tara bought the ticket at JR’s County Store on Hollybrook Lane in Pueblo. The ticket matched four Powerball numbers.

The two stopped playing for a long time because they were not winning, Michael told the Colorado Lottery. But his wife Tara had a “good feeling,” in her heart Wednesday night that something extraordinary was going to happen if they bought a ticket.

Michael bought at $2 ticket and the $1 PowerPlay option, which tripled their $50,000 prize.

When the couple went to claim their prize, the Colorado Lottery said the two did not know how much they won. When they found out, Tara cried tears of joy and called the money “life-changing.”

The winning numbers are 12-25-30-52-62 and the Powerball is 8.
