K-9 helps catch suspect

Colorado Springs police say one of its K-9 officers helped capture a suspect.

It happened around 11:30 Wednesday night in the 3600 block of El Morro Road.

Police say they received a call from a woman who said a man broke into her home and pointed a gun at her. He also threatened to shoot others inside.

When police arrived, the man ran away. He jumped fences along the way and hid in a nearby creek bed.

K-9 officer Ozzie was brought in to find the man, who was later identified as Bruce Knight.

Knight was taken to the hospital for minor injuries he received from Ozzie.

He is facing charges of 1st-degree burglary and felony menacing.
