Arraignment set for man accused in police shootout in Colorado Springs
A June arraignment date is now set for a man accused of getting into a shootout with police and trying to break into the home of a former corrections officer in Colorado Springs.
An arrest affidavit alleges Thomas Guolee tried to break into a home on Sierra Springs Drive, near S. Academy Boulevard and Astrozon Boulevard last December. The wife of a former corrections officer was at home with her children at the time. She called 911 and officers responded.
Guolee is accused of firing in the direction of Officer Terria Crocket after she arrived at the home. The affidavit says Crocket returned fire, hitting Guolee. He’s then accused of getting in a car and leading police in a chase that ended at Whittier Drive and Ruskin Drive.
Guolee is facing numerous charges, including attempted murder of a police officer and attempted burglary.
Guolee was questioned in the 2013 murder of Department of Corrections Director Tom Clements.
The 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office says Guolee will be arraigned on June 15.
