Pedestrian hit, cited in Colorado Springs

A pedestrian in Colorado Springs received a citation for running in front of a car.

It happened Monday night on the 100 block of Garden of the Gods road near I-25.

Police say 26-year-old Christopher Collins didn’t use a cross walk and didn’t look both directions before running across the road.

Collins was hit by a car that couldn’t stop in time. He received medical attention and is expected to be fine. The driver of the car does not have any injuries.

The driver did not receive a ticket. Collins got a ticket for being a pedestrian in the roadway.
