State-of-the-art Virtual Reality Bus Visits Students in Pueblo

A special high-tech bus visits Pueblo County high schools and middle schools Monday (04/18/16).

It’s a virtual reality STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) lab.

The bus is built by a company called zSpace.

The bus allows engineering students to “virtually” build and create anything. Those studying chemistry don’t have to worry about spills in the lab. And medical students can practice surgeries without injuring real patients.

The company says it also promotes team work.

Lance Vogler, from zSpace, says students can work with other students, as well in teams, to share information. That allows them to analyze models and to create a more collaborative environment in the classroom.

One student says it’s unlike anything she has seen before, calling it “pretty neat.”

The bus is used in hundreds of school districts across the nation to promote STEM education.
