Woodland Park officer saves heroin overdose victim with Narcan

Just 22 days after it began using Narcan, the Woodland Park Police Department says one of its officers used the drug to help save a life.

The department says that on Wednesday, Officer Beth Huber gave Narcan to a heroin overdose victim while CPR was being performed. Police say a passerby stopped to help perform CPR while Huber administered the drug.

Northeast Teller County Fire District firefighters and Ute Pass Regional Ambulance District medics also responded to the emergency.
