Loveland woman’s Facebook video goes viral

A personal video posted on Facebook has garnered unexpected attention for one woman in Loveland, CO. Last Friday, Catherine St. Germain posted a video detailing how her ex-husband sexually assaulted her 15-year-old daughter. The man, Aaron Scott, was just released from his 90-day jail sentence on Tuesday. The video was viewed by nearly 50-million people, giving St. Germain more attention than she expected.

St. Germain says people have contacted her after posting the video, “There’s a woman who lives in Estes Park, which is a town near me. She said she felt completely alone and isolated until she saw the video and she thought to herself, that’s not that far away from me; I’m not really that alone.”

She has received messages from as far away as Africa, many from sexual assault survivors. She says with April being Sexual Assault Month, she’s glad that her story seems to be giving strength to others.
