Four people injured in crash south of Colorado Springs

Authorities are investigating what caused a crash Tuesday night that involved five vehicles and injured four people just north of Fort Carson.

The crash happened around 7 p.m. in the northbound lanes of South Academy Boulevard west of Interstate 25.

Ambulances took the injured to area hospitals. The extent of their injuries was unclear at the time.

Fountain police and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

“The injuries ranged from people complaining of injuries to people showing physical injuries,” said an officer at the scene. “We’re still investigating what caused the accident.”

Traffic was reduced to one lane around the crash as of 8 p.m. Tuesday.
