Space Symposium has started

It’s the largest gathering of space professionals in the world, and it’s right here in Colorado Springs, and it’s going on this week.

The first day of the 32nd annual Space Symposium is Tuesday.

There are exhibits from companies large and small.

They’re showing off the latest technology to another full house at the Broadmoor exhibit hall.

Organizers said recent headlines and the record crowds for the Symposium show the gathering interest in space.

“The Rosetta Mission and the Philae Lander last year, those are the sorts of milestones and big steps that keep the public’s attention,” said Kevin Cook of the Space Foundation.

Cook says the final attendance numbers won’t be known for a while, but he said both the main hall and the side pavilion are sold out.
