Fremont County commissioners approve new medical marijuana regulations

New medical marijuana regulations that were approved by the Fremont County Board of County Commissioners Tuesday will take effect this weekend.

Under the ordinance, registered caregivers can grow no more than 36 plants outdoors on less than 10 acres. They can grow up to 99 plants if they have 10 acres or more.

Registered caregivers must be homeowners, not renters, under the rules.

The new ordinance takes effect on Sunday, April 17.
