Local Tuskegee Airmen honored

Four of the remaining Tuskegee Airmen living in Colorado were honored in Pueblo Saturday.

The ceremony celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Tuskegee Airmen, who were presented with prayer sticks.

They were part of an African-American group of pilots in World War II, who faced racial discrimination.

The family of Richard Biffle, a Tuskegee Airman from Pueblo attended the ceremony.

“We had a very good life, really and truly,” said Richard’s wife Louise.

The City Council and County Commissioners dedicated a proclamation for the ceremony honoring the men.
