Hundreds gather for Walk A Mile In Her Shoes
Hairy legs and high heels were worn with pride in Pueblo Saturday, to raise awareness about sexual assault.
The Pueblo Rape Crisis Service held the Walk A Mile In Her Shoes event today.
Firefighters and police also joined in, to walk a mile around the river walk in high heels.
Organizers say it’s all about open discussions and supporting each other.
“Being that this is an event for men to participate and to show their support, it means a lot to the agency but it means a lot to the community and to survivors as well,” said Kristi Roque, the executive director for PRCS.
Hundreds of people were impacted by sexual violence last year, just in Pueblo alone.
