Safe2Tell tips prompt Thursday lockout at Harrison High School

Just days after two Harrison High School students were stabbed near the campus, Safe2Tell tips are prompting new security concerns at the school.

Harrison School District Two says that Safe2Tell has received several vague tips about something possibly happening Thursday at the school.

As a result, Harrison is on a voluntary lockout Thursday. This means that all outside doors will be locked, and students and staff will not be allowed in and out of the building as freely as they usually are.

Security has been increased at the school since Monday after two students were stabbed near the campus. Their injuries are not serious. Devon Wilson, 18, was arrested.

Parent-teacher conferences were planned to take place Thursday well in advance of this week’s security concerns. As a result, school will let out at 11 a.m.

Principal Cheri Martinez sent a note to parents Wednesday notifying them about the Safe2Tell tips.

Harrison High School is located southeast of the I-25 and S. Circle Drive interchange on the south end of Colorado Springs.
